Miscellany Monday

*WOW. What a few days it has been. This house is eerily quiet today since I have it all to myself. I really didn't want to send the kids back to school today. :(

*Thanksgiving was great! :) Things were hectic and crazy with just a tinge of insanity, but that's the way I like it. ; )

*On Saturday we carried the Christmas trees, lights and all the decorations down from the barn attic and into the garage. This means that Christmas has begun in the Williams household! : ) The outside lights are hung and I'm starting on the inside today.

*Today's schedule is a typically crazy Monday lineup of events. All the stuff around the house; pick up Perri from school, feed her and return her to the school for a bus trip to a basketball scrimmage; back home to prepare dinner for The Hubster, Tucker and me; take Tucker to his Cub Scout meeting and then back home; go back out into town to pick up Perri when the bus returns; hopefully get some SLEEP so I can start all over again tomorrow!

Miscellany Monday

It's Monday again! I think this sums it up well for some of us...

Personally, I don't mind Monday so much.
It's a brand new week!
A brand new start!
Let's make the most of it! :)

And now on to the miscellany...

*Perri made me very proud on Trick or Treat night. Her 4H club was offered the chance to visit the nursing home to help the residents there hand out candy to local trick-or-treaters. It would count toward their community service time, but it was sort of last minute and Perri had already made plans with some of her friends. I told her she had to make a choice because it was impossible to do both. Well, after much thought and with some amount of 'I really don't want to do this but I guess I will because you're gonna make me feel guilty if I don't' (Hey! All the good moms do that! ;) ), she decided to go to the nursing home. And then she was very glad that she did. :) She even left there saying that if her fashion design career were to bomb, she'd seriously consider working with the elderly. ;) That's my girl. :)

*It's November 1st. Where on EARTH did November come from all at once? How did it get here so quickly? WOW! Time to start planning Thanksgiving! I think Brie loves Thanksgiving even more than Christmas (or at least almost more) and she is excited to get busy with it. We don't change up the menu too much since we feel like Thanksgiving is very much about tradition, but we do like to try one or two new dishes each year. I typically leave that up to Brie because she is a very good cook and she's somewhat adventurous with it at times.

*I'm probably jinxing myself by telling this, but here goes...
There is no diet Dr. Pepper in my house. I drank the last one yesterday.

WHATEVER SHALL I DO???

Well, I shall start drinking this instead:

I don't need the caffeine. I know this.
And I don't even think it's the caffeine that has me hooked.
It's the BURN.
I'm addicted to carbonation and this sparkling water should be just the ticket!

I may still get the caffeine withdrawal headache for the first three days (I always do) and I may miss the flavor of my diet Dr., but I need to do this. This water has no dyes, no sugar, no caffeine and no sodium. It HAS to be better for me than all that pop! Not to mention the money I'll save. So wish me luck.

Better yet, wish my family luck.
They're the ones who have to live with me during withdrawals. ;)

*I have some menu planning to do today and some odds and ends around the house. This evening begins a week of basketball tryouts for Perri and it's also Tucker's Cub Scout meeting, so dinner will be eaten on the fly. Need to figure out something quick and simple but also hot and filling. This will be the coolest day we've had for a while!

...Tucker had a Cub Scout meeting.

...was Perri's final volleyball game of the season. (They WON!!!)

...while driving home in my Two-Door Speck (it's really a Chevy Cobalt) from that volleyball game, we hit a deer . :(

...said deer did absolutely no damage to the Speck. YAY!

...my Yankees took a whoopin' from the Rangers during the ALCS. :(

BUT THE BIGGEST NEWS OF ALL............

Manic Monday!

What a crazy day already! And the problem is the entire week looks to be pretty much the same. I really wanted to do Miscellany Monday but I don't even have the time to do the whole link thing, so this is what you're getting for today. : )

Second birthday party for Hayden yesterday was a HUGE success! : ) That little guy is so loved! This is a little of the scenery surrounding the building where Brie had his party. Isn't it gorgeous there?


This place is only 7 miles from my house and yet I'd never been there. I'll definitely keep it in mind for future parties.

Also went on a hayride. WOW! 44 years old and I finally get to go on a hayride! Gerrod, a friend of Josh and Brie's, hooked up his tractor to their hay wagon, threw on a few bales of hay, and loaded up everyone who wanted to go! It was AWESOME! Beautiful scenery and don't ya know....I FORGOT MY CAMERA!!!
Anyway, I have a crazy week ahead. Tons of running back and forth to Charleston (1 doc appointment, a mammogram and picking up my Mom), then running Mom to her doc's appointment and a hair appointment up here before driving her back home on Thursday evening. Plus on Wednesday, after having already driven to Charleston that morning, I'll be driving back down there and then even further down the road to Perri's volleyball game in Winfield.


I have phone calls to make (Shannon, I PROMISE I'll call you before the day is out!), 160+ birthday treat bags to put together for PTO, a Cub Scout meeting to get Tucker to as soon as school lets out, and I have to pick up Perri at school and get her fed before her volleyball game this evening. At least it's at home.

Anyone know how to clone? I'd almost be willing to give it a shot! However, I'm not sure the world is ready for two of me. ; )
