Neglected

This is a list of things in my life that are currently NOT being neglected:

1. The Hubster.
2. The kids.
3. The grandkids.
4. The house.

This is a list of things in my life that ARE currently being neglected:
1. This blog.

But you know what?  I think my priorities are in pretty good order at the moment.  : )

Softball/baseball season is underway.  Spring weather has been sprung upon us quite early this year and yard work has already begun.  I've had some very busy days and evenings.  There simply hasn't been time to blog and while I miss it, I'm not beating myself up over it.  My blogging seems to have always come in fits and spurts and I know I won't be away from it forever.  That makes it a little more okay, as far as I'm concerned.

I do try to find a few minutes here and there to read your blogs and keep up on what's happening in your lives.  I'm usually doing this from my phone while sitting on the bleachers at the ball fields or in the car waiting on one kid or the other, so I can't always post comments but I do hope you know I'm still out here, trying to catch up/keep up with what's happening and what's important to you.  Because you're important to me

I'll be back.  Maybe with some pics the next time.  Perri is playing high school softball, Tucker is playing Little League baseball, and I've been a busy girl running from one end of town to the other.  I had really intended to post here at least 3 times a week and I did pretty well with it for a little while, but real life has this way of showing us who's boss.   And it isn't me. ; )

I hope you're finding time to enjoy real life, too.  The weather, the kids, the flowers, and even just the ups and downs of it all.

It's not just REAL life.

It's YOUR life.

LOVE it.

ENJOY it.

LIVE IT.  : )

How Can It Be?

In the blink of an eye, he went from this:

to this:

Okay, so there were a few years in between.
They looked a lot like this:

(Yes, there are plenty of years between the diaper pic and the cap pic,
but you know how it is with teenage boys and cameras.)

When I had that baby you see in the first pic,
I was pretty much a baby myself.
Drew was my firstborn,
my pride and joy,
my own living, breathing
baby doll.
For 2 1/2 years (until his sister came along)
he had me all to himself
and we went everywhere together.
He was always by my side,
my very best little friend,
my reason to get out of bed each morning.
No child was ever more loved.

Today he turns 28 years old.

TWENTY-EIGHT?

How on earth can it be?

It seems that only a moment ago I was
pushing him in his stroller...
putting him on the school bus...
reading every Hiram's Red Shirt and Tootle to him
(over and over and over);
being so proud to call him my son.

That last part?
Well, it still holds true
and it always will.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DREWPY!
(Yeah, he's gonna kill me for that.... ; ) )

Remember when...

There is nothing like helping your daughter get ready for a high school dance.
Sure does bring back all those sweet memories of the dances you attended.

Picking out just the right dress and fussing with the hair and makeup.

And accessories.
 Can't forget the accessories.
The perfect earrings, the ideal necklace.

And when it all comes together, you definitely feel like a princess.
(Perri and two of her friends ALL looked like princesses!)

Especially when your Perry the Platypus slippers match your dress so very well.  : )

Hammin' it up with her date.

And all the couples ready to walk out the door.

Thanks to Tori (in the red dress...Perri's bestie) and Tish (Tori's mom)
for having us all to their house to enjoy the primping
and fussing and especially the
fun and giggles!
