Yes, TWO POSTS IN ONE DAY!!!

Wow! I am on the ball today! ;)

Truthfully, I had already done a post for today (here) when I came across Kristin's Kindred Connection Party and I just wanted to join in!

Windy Poplars

1. How do you most like to entertain during the summer (pool party, picnic, cookout, etc.)? - Or if your situation doesn't allow for entertaining right now, what do you look forward to being able to host?
We do cookouts pretty often. I love to host all-day events that carry over into the evening with a fire in the fire ring and roasted marshmallows and s'mores! That's what summer is all about! :)

2. Do you have a favorite summertime dessert?
My grandmother made a dessert with lime Jello, Dream Whip and angel food cake. It is THE BEST! Here is the recipe:
Mama’s Angel Food Cake Dessert
1 pkg. Knox unflavored gelatin
½ cup boiling water
1 lg. box lime Jello
1 ½ cups boiling water
1 no. 2 can crushed pineapple
Mix all together and chill until thick.
2 pkgs. Dream Whip (Mixed according to pkg. directions)
Add 1 cup chopped nuts
Storebought Angel Food Cake (I sometimes bake my own for this.)
Break ½ of cake into small pieces. Place in a 13”x 9” pan in single layer. Pour ½ of chilled mixture over cake pieces. Repeat with remaining cake and chilled mixture. Chill well.
Frost with 2 pkgs. Dream Whip (mixed according to pkg. directions). Garnish with shredded coconut and maraschino cherries.

3.What is your best outdoor summer date idea?
A picnic by a lake or stream, where the only sounds you hear are the birds singing. :)

4. Share any outdoor decorating tips/ideas you have...
I love to make luminaria for different occasions. Just save your empty fruit, veggie and soup cans. Punch holes in them in designs to fit the occasion and then give them a coat of paint. Put about an inch of sand in the bottom for weight and then set in a tealight. Line your walkway or set on a porch railing. Very pretty! :)

5. What will we find you wearing most in the summertime?
I wear jeans year round, but I also love long, flowing, casual dresses in the summertime.

Stop by Windy Poplars and join in the fun of Kindred Connection! :)
